Since 1976, G. Douglass Alexander has helped raise billions of dollars, founded 6 different companies that provide innovative fundraising tools and services, and served the nonprofit industry as an author, leader and speaker.
In 1999, Doug developed the initial vision for FundraisingINFO.com. He is also the founding partner of one of the nation’s leading fundraising consulting firms, Alexander Haas Martin & Partners, and a founder and chairman of MaGIC, Inc. which provides battle tested screening solutions for every fundraising program.
As counsel for campaigns as large as $1 billion, Doug has been personally involved in the solicitation of numerous eight-figure gifts. He has also served two presidents, Carter and Bush ‘41, and raised funds to bring the 1996 Olympics to Atlanta. Doug uses this extensive experience to assist in the development of FRI’s fundraising support services.
As a leader in the fundraising industry, Doug has written over 50 articles and is the co-author of Essential Principles for Fundraising Success (Josey Bass 2005). A sought-after speaker and trainer, Doug has delivered key-note addresses and taught at ten international conferences as well as numerous other fundraising workshops.
Doug has served as a Board member of several private companies, the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP), the AFP Foundation, and the Giving Institute. He is currently a member of the Oglethorpe University Board of Trustees.
Doug holds an undergraduate degree from Oglethorpe University, where he was an All-America basketball player, an MBA in marketing from Georgia State University, and he is an instrument rated pilot. He enjoys spending time with his
two and a half year old son and two year old grandson – go Doug!
