Research Prospects

What is Prospect Research?

Imagine walking into a meeting with the wealthiest person in your community. What advantage would you have if you knew as much as possible beforehand about the person with whom you are meeting? What if you knew the sources of the prospect's wealth, information about his/her family and his/her affinity towards your institution? Your meeting would be much more productive. Also, imagine the edge you will have by knowing on what boards the prospect serves, to what clubs they belong and what companies they own. What would be the value if research discovered a mutual friend, mutual interests, some sort of connection or relationship - professionally or personally between you and the prospect? What if research uncovered the prospect's true passion, which happened to tie in with one of the institution's strategic goals?

Funds are raised at non-profits by creating relationships - friendships created between the prospect and the people who represent the institution. Prospect research can and does play a major role in this process.

What is ProspectINFO?

FundraisingINFO.com's ProspectINFO service can provide you with an in-depth profile of an individual. ProspectINFO provides complete, in-depth custom profiles of individuals within 3 business days of your order. Through this service, an organization can quickly learn about an individual's assets, philanthropic interests, business interests, and other affiliations. ProspectINFO is particularly helpful to organizations that are preparing for major solicitations and do not have in-house research expertise.

Senior researchers each who have more than 20 years of experience identifying information that is pertinent in a fundraising solicitation prepare each profile. To view a sample of an individual profile, click here (you will need Acrobat Reader to view this file).  A complete FRI ProspectINFO search costs:

  • $250 for FundraisingINFO.com members
  • $300 for non-FundraisingINFO.com members (JOIN NOW)
